Colorado Springs has the ideal climate to spend time outdoors, and what better way to spend some time in your garden than meditation.
Creating a meditation space has a few factors for it to be a successful meditation session. Here are the considerations for your space.
- Privacy- Having a secluded area to sit should first and foremost be a secluded spot in the yard, away from neighbors and unpleasant views.
- Low Noise- Nothing interrupts a session more than noise. Choosing a time of the day may be one way lessen the effects of close neighbors. Another way is to create “white noise”. An effective way is to purchase a small, plug-in feature that will help to drown out outside noise. Lastly, headphones are a good way to block noise.
- Comfortability- Having a mat will help no matter the surface, yet there are some materials in the garden that help with comfort. Pea gravel, crushed granite or organic mulch will be soft enough. A small wood deck, paver patio or concrete pad can work, as well.
- Shade- You know how warm our sun here in Colorado Springs can be, so having some overhead shade is vital. It could be a tree or large shrub, a small pergola or a covered porch.
